Minnick’s HVAC, Plumbing, & Insulation is a family owned company that’s served the Laurel, Maryland community and beyond for 63 years.
We provide emergency HVAC repair and service to Montgomery, Howard, Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, and Baltimore City counties.
Third-generation owners, Rob and Rusty, are still focused on the core mission of serving you while offering state of the art services including their unique “Whole-Home Action Plan.”
This approach looks at the entire home and fixes problems at the source rather than focusing only on the heating and cooling equipment. By focusing on the performance of your home, your systems run more efficiently, last longer, and help you achieve whole home comfort.
A healthy home means healthy living.
William Minnick created the heating and cooling company in 1954. Then his son, Larry, took over. Like his dad, Larry also passed the business on to his sons, Rob and Rusty. They run Minnick’s today.
Rob and Rusty have the same commitment to customer service as their grandfather. William Minnick made sure customers were 100% satisfied with the work done in their home. Today, Rob and Rusty still put the customer first.
At Minnick’s, we offer exceptional value and service for residential heating, cooling, plumbing and insulation needs. We believe customers deserve to have their home problems solved quickly by a company you can afford and trust.
Minnick’s is home to the $89 service call day or night, and weekends too. We don’t add extra fees for emergency HVAC repairs. You’ll always pay only $89.
Our trained and certified service technicians will arrive at your home or business in our “Rolling Warehouses.” These vehicles have all the tools our techs need to inspect the situation, quote a price for the service, and immediately address the issue.
Financing is also available so you can enjoy healthy living for less. We offer 0% financing or payments as low as $99 a month.
As a family-owned business, Minnick’s customer commitment and focus on Whole-Home comfort sets us apart from other HVAC, Plumbing & Insulation companies. Your comfort is our top priority.
Minnick’s is a pioneer in Whole-Home Comfort. At Minnick’s we focus on your entire house as a system, rather than looking only at your heating and cooling equipment. We believe your insulation, air sealing, and ductwork all play key roles in how well your home heats or cools.
A comprehensive energy audit is an inexpensive way to test your home’s performance. With the data, Minnick’s creates a Whole Home Action Plan to solve your performance, efficiency, and comfort needs.
Minnick’s is a BGE and Pepco approved Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor. Pepco and BGE customers qualify for a special energy audit rate of just $100 and also qualify for up to $7500 in rebates.
We’re proud to be the only Maryland company offering customers a way to make their HVAC system smart. Smart Maintenance offers monthly monitoring, plus urgent HVAC alerts. Take the worry out of HVAC ownership with always reliable home comfort.
Smart Maintenance predicts and prevents breakdowns and protects your whole-home comfort. Custom sensors detect up to 80-percent of HVAC issues before they happen. Plus, receive monthly performance reports allowing you to reduce your energy costs by up to 20-percent.
Minnick’s provides a 30-day warranty on repairs, maintenance service, or installation. If you are not completely satisfied with the work, we’ll make it right for free. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
This peace of mind does not cost you anything and will not affect the warranty of any service we perform. Just let us know in writing (by letter or email) that you are not happy and we will dispatch our Service Manager immediately.
Minnick’s services Montgomery, Howard, Prince Georges, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, and Baltimore City counties.
Minnick’s also backs up its HVAC installations with third-party verification. We’re one of the only Maryland HVAC companies offering this. With Minnick’s, you never have to worry with ENERGY STAR Verified HVAC Installation (ESVI).
After every installation, a third-party verifies the work, performance of the unit, and its efficiency. Even the most energy-efficient HVAC unit requires proper sizing, efficient ducts, and proper airflow and refrigerant levels to perform as expected. With ESVI, Minnick’s protects your Whole-Home Comfort and your investment in new HVAC equipment.
Minnick’s commitment to customer service and skilled technicians is the same as it was 63 years ago when the family business started.
We don’t hire just any heating and cooling technician. We have rigorous standards which help make you a satisfied customer.
Our accreditations ensure you receive high-quality service and repairs with every visit.
The Minnick family believes in educating all employees – from customer service representatives to HVAC technicians.
We have an in-house training center with a classroom and testing center designed to make sure we always send a skilled technician to your house. Our techs learn the latest skills and technology with hands-on training and refresher courses.
Our training center has a mock-up attic that enables new employees to practice installation and servicing of HVAC systems. Plus, we have all the products a technician may find in your home. That includes heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, and geothermal heat pumps from the leading HVAC manufacturers.
Training is part of the Minnick’s culture for current and new employees.
The training center continues to grow. It helps Minnick’s maintain its dedication to knowledge and education that started in 1954.
Consistency is the key to success, just ask the McDonald’s corporation. A cheeseburger in Los Angeles tastes the same as it does in New York. At Minnick’s we don’t make cheeseburgers, but we have standard procedures for our technicians and installers. Our techs and employees receive training manuals, so they always do the job right.
Our techs arrive at your door with a thorough checklist. They closely follow the checklist and manual, which have the latest information and HVAC data. With these standard procedures, we provide consistent, quality service to every client.
Let Minnick’s help you achieve whole home comfort today. A healthy home means healthy living.
North American Technician Excellence (NATE) is the nation’s largest non-profit organization for certifying HVAC and refrigeration technicians. Founded in 1997, NATE certification ensures that each technician has expert knowledge of all heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
The Building Performance Institute (BPI) is the nation’s premier standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy auditing and upgrade work. We are helping build an industry, create a workforce, and support programs through professional certification, contractor accreditation, and quality assurance services.
As the nation’s leading building science accreditation organization, BPI focuses on efficiency retrofitting standards to certify professionals and businesses. BPI employs the “whole-house” approach, which views the components of a building (from the envelope to the attic to the basement) as correlating parts that affect the entire performance. This philosophy improves the energy efficiency of the building and the comfort, health, and safety of its occupants. All of Minnick’s technicians are BPI certified. RESNET Certified HERS Rater
The Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) is an independent, non-profit organization that creates the national training and certification standards for Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Raters and Home Energy Survey Professionals.
With a focus on new construction, RESNET certified HERS Raters analyze each component of a building – as well as each component’s relationship to the others – to determine if there are any energy inefficiencies or waste.
The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) shows for homeowners, builders, and architects a building’s energy efficiency rank. We will analyze a building and then assign a score. The scale, called a HERS Index, will rank a building anywhere from 0 (the lowest rating, which indicates a zero energy home, or a home that produces as much energy as it consumes) to 150 (the highest rating, which indicates that the home produces less energy than it consumes). Click here to learn more about HERS Ratings.
Why is a HERS Rating important?
As the requirement of many programs and certifications, including ENERGY STAR, New Homes, Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM), and Energy Improvement Mortgage (EIM), a HERS Rating is nationally recognized as the most trusted energy efficiency score for residences and commercial buildings.
