Minnick’s was founded in 1954 by William Minnick, who passed the business down to his son, Larry. Larry has now officially handed the keys to the business over to his two sons: Rob and Rusty. As the business has transcended from one generation to another, the technology behind heating, air conditioning, plumbing and insulation has changed, but the commitment to customer service and educating employees has grown even stronger.

The Minnick family believes in educating employees – from customer service to technicians and installers – so they can fully service each client. Our in-house training facility consists of a classroom, and a testing center designed to provide hands on training and refresher courses.

TRAINING CENTER

In addition to a mock up attic that enables new employees to practice installation and servicing of HVAC systems, there are electrical systems and other working models that help teach attendees how to complete a job quickly and correctly.

The training center has continued to grow over the past several years, and besides functioning as an engaging teaching tool, it helps us maintain our dedication to knowledge and education that started with our founder.

The operation manuals are augmented by a thorough checklist that each of our technicians brings to every client appointment. They are expected to closely follow the checklist and manual, both of which are updated on a regular basis to incorporate new information and data collected by our employees and owners. With these standard procedures, we are able to provide consistent, quality service to every client.

North American Technician Excellence (NATE) is the nation’s largest non-profit organization for certifying HVAC and refrigeration technicians. Founded in 1997, NATE certification ensures that each technician has expert knowledge of all heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.

BPI Certified

BPIACColorVert-100x126The Building Performance Institute (BPI) is the nation’s premier standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy auditing and upgrade work. We are helping build an industry, create a workforce, and support programs through professional certification, contractor accreditation, and quality assurance services.

As the nation’s leading building science accreditation organization, efficiency retrofitting standards that are used to certify professionals and businesses. BPI employs the “whole-house” approach, which views the components of a building (from the envelope to the attic to the basement) as correlating parts that affect the entire performance. When this philosophy is implemented it improves the energy efficiency of the building and the comfort, health, and safety of its occupants. All of Minnick’s technicians are BPI certified. RESNET Certified HERS Rater

The Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) is an independent, non-profit organization that creates the national training and certification standards for Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Raters and Home Energy Survey Professionals.

With a focus on new construction, RESNET certified HERS Raters analyze each component of a building – as well as each component’s relationship to the others – to determine if there are any energy inefficiencies or waste.

The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) is offered by Minnick’s as a way for homeowners, builders, and architects to accurately determine a building’s energy efficiency rank. We will analyze a building and then assign a score. The scale, called a HERS Index, will rank a building anywhere from 0 (the lowest rating, which indicates a zero energy home, or a home that produces as much energy as it consumes) to 150 (the highest rating, which indicates that the home produces less energy than it consumes).
